ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the United States, announced today a partnership with the City of Amarillo that will enable people to skip the meter and pay for parking from their mobile device. The ParkMobile app is now available at 900 spaces in downtown Amarillo.
Signage is now posted around the city's paid parking areas with information on how to pay for parking using the app. ParkMobile is free to download and available for both iPhone and Android devices. A user simply enters the zone number posted on the ParkMobile sign, chooses the duration of time, and touches the "start parking" button. ParkMobile sends alerts when a parking session is about to expire so a user can extend time right from the app. Parking may be paid for through the app or by calling the number included on the signage.
ParkMobile is already widely available across the state of Texas with almost 80,000 users in major cities like Dallas, Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, and College Station. ParkMobile's expansion into Amarillo gives people more places where they can use the app across the state. ParkMobile also offers event reservations at major sports and entertainment venues like Texas Memorial Stadium, Kyle Field, Bass Concert Hall, and Minute Maid Park.
"ParkMobile is excited to bring our smart parking solutions to the City of Amarillo," says Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile. "We have a large and growing base of users in Texas, so the more places we are available, the easier it will be to park wherever you travel across the state."
