TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, today announced its innovative work with partner Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport has been recognized in the 2019 CIO 100 awards.
The prestigious 32nd annual award program recognizes global organizations that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in IT. Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport was recognized for its work with TIBCO leveraging their analytics solutions in data visualization, predictive analytics, and AI, which helps the five-time FIA Formula One™ World Constructors' Champions make critical, real-time strategic decisions that can impact race results.
One of the most successful Formula One teams in recent history, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport turned to TIBCO and its data science experts in 2017 for a solution that could help the team quickly analyze massive amounts of data for operational excellence – such as 50,000 data points per racecar, per second – both at the factory and during races. Using the TIBCO® Connected Intelligence platform, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport was able to discover patterns, increase efficiency, and better understand how external factors such as weather or competition would impact race results to gain a competitive advantage.
