What sets the Inland Empire Auto Show apart from others is its ability to stray away from the concept cars and instead display vehicles currently on the market.

The three-day auto show at the Ontario Convention Center, presented by the Ontario Auto Center, is an exhibition of new 2011- 2012 model vehicles. The show is owned and produced by the Ontario Convention Center, On The Edge Productions and DRIVEN Media Communications.

And what event-goers saw were models ranging from the high-end race car, Chevrolet Corvette ZRI, priced at $123,000, to the yet-to-be-released Scion IQ, a compact car valued at about $16,000.

"It's giving consumers the ability to see, touch and feel vehicles in their local market," said Mike Caudill, co-producer of the show.

A few car favorites this weekend were the compact and fuel-efficient models such as the newly released Fiat 500 as well as the Toyota Prius V, which doesn't go on sale until October, Caudill said.

For those event-goers considering purchasing a car, the show was the perfect opportunity to test out cars at the shows' "Ride and Drive" program, he said.

Ontario residents Steve Krechmery and Marie Tza are both thinking about purchasing new cars and had 120,000 square feet of showroom space to choose from.

"It's great to be able see them all in one spot," Krechmery said.

Krechmery, who currently drives a truck, said he is looking for something a little more fuel efficient. He stopped to look at the Scion's IQ, which should be released in October, and was a little disappointed he couldn't get in.

Unlike Krechmery, Tza said she knew exactly what she is looking for.

"The Ford Mustang," she said as her eyes lit up. "The Mustang's been my dream my car."

Caudill expected 25,000 people to attend over the weekend with the show ending today.

The show ends today. Doors open at 10 a.m. Ontario Convention Center is at 2000 E. Convention Center Way.
